ACBAR: Agency Coordinating Body For Afghan Relief

ACBAR is the abbreviation for Agency Coordinating Body For Afghan Relief, ab Afghanistan Umbrella Organization representing ninety seven NGO members from the national and international humanitarian, reconstruction and development NGOs community in Afghanistan. ACBAR was formed in 1988 in response to the need for NGOs to coordinate their activities in order to maximize their efficiency and resources.

The main Functions of ACBAR Currently Are:

1. Coordination - To avoid duplication of work and to identify gaps to be filled.
2. Planning NGO strategy to meet humanitarian, reconstruction and development aims.
3. Collection & Dissemination of information relevant to humanitarian assistance & development.
4. Advocacy & Policy.
5. Provision of information recourses & technology centers.
